I’ve seen only 3 keynotes so far. Steve performed as precise as expected (did he have a cold or something?) but the content left much to desire.Leopard – yeah – it’s gonna be a cool product I can’t wait to get my hands on, but did he tell us anything we didn’t know before? Some more features introduced – OK, and shipping in October – OK, and more games released earlier for the Mac – OK.<\/p>\n
And the short notice on the iPhone – same thing – nothing new except for the fact that we all now know that to write an iPhone app we’ll need to run a server environment on our end. So, if the iPhone has Safari 3 built in (the public beta refuses to install on my machine BTW) we can now start writing webservices for the iPhone.<\/p>\n
Web 2.0 compatible? Who knows? Is there a Flash runtime? Java? Did Apple – although they pulled all (and more) available developers into the iPhone team not manage to come up with anything else?
\nWhat happend at WWDC 2007 minus a week or so? “Folks, this all doesn’t really work, let’s put in a complete Safari engine and let this be cool”?<\/p>\n
I’m still looking foreward to Leopard, I still will order an iPhone ASAP, but this keynote wasn’t what many of us expected – a remake, a clone of the last one.<\/p>\n
